The caves of her native village Biryuk Sayuren, Bakhchisaray region, where they hid from German bombs remain in the memory of Ayshe Bekirova. The life path of Ayshe Bekirova was full of losses. Out of nine children, only three survived the war and deportation. When the Soviet soldiers came to her house, Ayshe Khanym’s mother was sure that the Crimean Tatars were being taken to be shot, so she took nothing with her. The family was placed in barracks, where a real fight for life was going on.
